Mark is a Chartered Architect, Expert Witness and Forensic Architect. Mark has been instructed as independent architectural expert on numerous cases and has worked on some major U.K. and international disputes. He has been qualified for 20 years and has an MSc In Construction Law from King’s College.
He has worked on award winning projects and bids and has extensive technical experience. He has a hands on, practical approach and a wealth of experience in remediation and investigating building defects, building on his systematic analysis and interest in design and building construction.
Mark’s portfolio spans a wide range of sectors including education, commercial developments, office, residential and retail, swimming pools, theatres and large-scale transport and infrastructure projects. He has specific experience in sustainable design and construction and design and build contracts.
His investigative work has included water ingress, fire protection, defective design, quality of workmanship, adequacy of design information, external wall construction, co-ordination, compliance with Building Regulations, reasonableness of architect’s fees and professional negligence. This has often involved complex projects in the residential, retail, commercial offices, hotels, education, transport and aviation sectors. He has been appointed as an expert joint expert and been involved in litigation, multi-party and two-party mediations, adjudications and international arbitrations. This has taken him to projects and sites across the UK, the Middle-East and Africa.
